The Western Continent comprises the five western nations, the two enchanted lands, and the hidden archipelago that lies between the two continents. Originally home to the Northern Ancients and Southern Giants, the modern sapient races of the five nations originated as settlers from the East. Through interbreeding and magical interference from the Ancients, whom mortals revered as Gods, five new and distinct species were formed. They spread out across the continent from the wind-swept steppes of Teridi Koholo to the sun-scorched deserts of Ter'ays, adapted, and thrived.

Developing for several thousand years in isolation of the Eastern Continent enabled these cultures to develop unique racial Gifts, cultures, religions, and social structures.
