"A God's responsibility to his people is to listen to prayers
and give force to his Domain in the Realms. No more and no less."

~Larix, King of the Old Gods

The Ancient Lands have been enchanted to dissuade mortal incursion,  and its northern forests have become a legend in and of themselves. The Northern Ancients, also known as the Old Gods, make their home in the sacred Halls hidden in the heart of this protected territory. While they are not as discouraging of visitors as The Badlands or Da'fer, mortals still must have attained a level of heroic prowess to be able to make their way through the many protective enchantments at all.

The Old Gods are a pantheon of Thirteen deities (though, many include Ahd'ar'ohk as the fourteenth) that accept worship from all of the western nations, and a few from abroad. Benevolent yet reticent, it was their protection and tampering that enabled the Western Races to come into being.
