Synopsis:

To end the cycle of destruction, our heroes must find the conqueror on his own soil . . . and beg for his help.

The Battle of Heroes was won at great cost. All those deaths and all that magic have gouged indelible scars into the fabric of the Realms. Sasharr’s prophetic powers now consume him, unravelling his mind and body, unmooring him in space and time. He has seen that the world is crumbling due to their actions, but he has fought too hard to resign himself to its utter destruction.

Sasharr and Kigäli have always been two sides of the same coin, and it is upon the erstwhile conqueror that Sasharr now places all his hopes. Kigäli is the only one left powerful enough to help Sasharr restore the balance of the world and so prevent their mistakes from being repeated by future generations.

However, Kigäli has retreated home to the distant Eastern Continent, poised to tell whatever version of events he wishes and mount a disastrous second assault. Sasharr knows they must stop him, but that will require navigating unknown languages, cultures, and geography where the enemy holds court. If he can convince Kigäli to trust him, to work with him, they can together craft a new Spell—in defiance of Gods and governments. But safeguarding the future has a steep cost: their lives, loves, and legacy.

Merging of Fates is book three in The Prophet’s Tale trilogy.
